    Itinerary

    Day 1 Delhi – Srinagar

    Transfer to the airport for flight to Srinagar
    Upon arrival in Srinagar meet you assistant and you will transfer to the House Boat.
    Afternoon visiting Mughal gardens, With terraced lawns, cascading fountains, paint-box-bright flowerbeds with the panorama of the Dal in front of them – the three Mughal Gardens of Chesmashahi, Nishat and Shalimar are the Mughal Emperors’ concept of paradise and are today very popular places for picnics and excursions. Shalimar garden, Built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Nur Jehan, Shalimar, is a beautiful garden with sweeping vistas over gardens and lakes, and shallow terraces. Nishat garden, Situated on the banks of the Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains as its backdrop, this ‘garden of bliss’ commands a magnificent view of the lake and the snow capped Pir Panjal mountain range which stands far away to the west of the valley. Nishat was designed in 1633 AD by Asaf Khan, brother of Nur Jahan spreading the philosophy of Vedanta. This perhaps led to the renaming of the temple as Shankaracharya Temple. Shankaracharya was also instrumental in popularizing the worship of Lord Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir.dinner and overnight in House Boat.

    Day 2Delhi Srinagar to Pahalgam: (97 kilometers / 3-4 hrs drive)

    We will begin our trip towards Pahalgam and drive past the saffron fields of Pampore, the marvellous ruins of Avantipura and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. You can even sample a few exotic breads sold by vendors near the road. We switch the the national highway at Khanabal and drive through the second largest city of Anantnag.

    From here the road turns scenic as we drive parallel on the Lidder river flowing from the opposite direction. In Pahalgam we check in at the hotel and later do some nature walks to unwind ourselves. dinner and an overnight stay.

    Day 3Delhi Pahalgam to Gulmarg: (140 kilometers / 4 hrs drive)

    After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our country tour towards Gulmarg. The drive past colorful villages and rice fields, gives you an insight of the rich cultural past of Kashmir. We arrive at a small picturesue market town of Tangmarg and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg. We arrive in Gulmarg early in the afternoon.

    In Gulmarg we will board the Gondola cable car system, and ascend towards the Mountain range. The 04-05 minutes of ropeway will take you past colorful shepherd hutments to the lower ridge of the peak. From here you can

    Day 4Delhi Gulmarg to Sonamarg: (125 kilometers / 4 hrs drive)

    We begin our day with a sumptous breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will drive to the majestic mountain

    We begin our day with a sumptous breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will drive to the majestic mountain resort of Sonamarg. The route towards Sonamarg takes us on a picturesque country side drive where we will come across rolling hills, green forests, clear water streams and blooming rice fields. We will zoom past the town of Kangan which handles all the local needs of this region. From Kangan, we will drive towards Mammar, famous for its trout farm and stopover for a warm cup of tea ( Own Cost ) before we head towards Sonamarg. We will once again alight from our vehicles at the tourist spot of Gagangir. The spot is built in the middle of the river Sindh and looks like an island with snow glaciers covering one or the other spot. In Sonamarg we will take a 3 hour walk or horseback (Own Cost ) trip to the Thajwass glacier. After our return we will visit the small town market for some snacks or just pay a visit observing the local people going with thier daily routine. Post this tiring day, Check in Hotel and Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 5Sonmarg -Kargil Approx (210 km 6-7 hrs)

    Today after breakfast drive to Kargil via Sonamarg (2740mt) is the last major town before Ladakh, Sonamarg is an excellent base for trekking. Its names “Meadows of Gold”. We drive over Zoji La Pass ( 3529 mt). Zoji La pass is the watershed between Kashmir and ladakh- on one side you have the green, lush scenery of Kashmir while on the other side everything is barren and dry. Drass is the first main village after the pass, from here another 56 km to Kargil, upon arrival check-in in hotel, dinner and overnight in hotel.

    Day 6Kargil-Leh via Lamayuru

    Post breakfast we drive to Leh on the you can visit 8m-high Maitreya statue, an image of future Buddha, cut into the rock face and dating back about 700 AD, this village name called Mulbek it’s the first Buddhist village after Kargil. Drive via Futo La pass (4147mt), the route’s highest pass, then Namika La Pass (3760mt), then  visit LAMAYURU monastery, Belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat.) the monastery is more than 1000 year old also called the moon land.   On the way to leh you can also see the CONFLUENCE OF THE INDUS AND ZANSKAR RIVER just after Nimmu village , overnight hotel

    Day 7Leh -Nubra Valley via khardongla

    After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Post-lunch, enjoy the camel safari at Sand Dunes between Diskit & Hundur Village.  Visit Disket Monastery and  Maitreya Buddha

    Day 8Nubra – Turtuk – Hunder Day Trip

    It is one of the most fascinating journeys in Ladakh. This is a less popular destination recently opened for tourists,This region is controlled mainly by the Ladakh Scouts, a rear department of the India Army. A border village that was recaptured by the Indian Army in 1971. Locals have relatives across the border (Line of Control) and depend mainly on farming of vegetables, apricot besides providing mules and porters. Baltistan a beautiful village with charming people “On the night of December 13, 1971, the people of this village went to sleep in Pakistan. The next morning, they woke up in India.” We are in Turtuk, listening to a villager recount the history of this remote northwest corner of Ladakh, which until that night was part of Baltistan in PoK You will come back to Nubra Valley by the evening.     Day 9Nubra Valley -to Pangong via Shyok route

    After breakfast visit Diskit Monastery (Big Buddha), where you can have a magnificent view of Nubra Valley and later drive to Pangong via Shyok river with amazing landscape and adventure. Stop for lunch at Durbuk and 1hrs continue drive to Pangong lake and . Enjoy the Pangong lake stargazing. And  overnight  (O/N at hotel Merak Lodge & camp  / Meal plan  B,D)

    Day 10 Pangong to Leh via Changla

    In the early morning, enjoy the picturesque view of Sunrise on the lake. After Breakfast, drive back to Leh, en-route visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. Our driver will drop you at Leh market where you can explore yourself. Later, a car will leave you at the service station.   (O/N at hotel Dekiling Leh  / Meal plan  (B,D)

    Day 11Leh Tour End (Departure)

    Today, your departure from Leh will end your trip with hotel check-out time. If you need the transfer services, please call our executive to do the transfer arrangement 3 hrs prior.
